Analytical consulting group Drewry Shipping Consultants by results of the researches have made the conclusion, that following the results of a year the turnover of goods on transportation of containers on sea vessels considerably will decrease. Also, they celebrate: there is a tendency to that some including known container operators, will be compelled to close the industrial activity in the container market as it has already occurred with Eastwind Maritime.
Drewry Shipping Consultants warns that in the end of a year of container carriers financial losses at a rate of 20 billion dollars expect. For comparison: carriers of cargoes in containers on the sea have closed the last fiscal year with profit at a rate of 5 billion dollars.
Consulting group Drewry, also predicts a conclusion from operation more than 10 % of vessels for transportation of containers and to reduction of their general load-carrying capacity. Predicted reduction of quantity of container vessels on sea lines, directly will affect working capacity decrease on a turnover of goods in ports and container terminals, and also on their profit on an overload of container cargoes.
Some container carriers of floating cargoes already have now started to struggle for a survival by increase of rates, on transportation of containers by the sea, from 200 to 400 dollars, between East and South East Asia and the European ports, but it is not enough of it for crisis overcoming in the market of transportation of containers.
