Extra charges on tariffs on transportation of containers for risks from actions of pirates.

As informs SeaNews, company Mediterranean Shipping Company declared, that since January, 1st, 2010, raises extra charges to the tariff on sea transportation of containers through Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean, in connection with activization of actions of piracy groupings in the given areas.
Extra charges to the tariff on transportation of containers will operate on all cargo which is in the container, in following directions of lines of container transportations:
- From Aden (to Aden), from East Africa (to East Africa) - $100 for 20-foot and $200 for the 40-foot sea container;
- From countries of Northern Europe on islands of Indian Ocean ?30 for 20-foot and ?60 for the 40-foot sea container; on the countries of Asia, the Average and the Far East $40 for 20-foot and $80 for the 40-foot sea container;
- From Australia, Bangladesh, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and delivery of containers in the same countries of $40 for 20-foot and $80 for the 40-foot sea container.
