The container terminal in the Odessa sea transport port - new prospects of building.

The board of directors the European bank of reconstruction and development plans to consider the problem on May, 06th, 2009 on granting of the credit at a rate of 28 million euro (37 million dollars) and to enter into the capital of Cyprian company Odessa Terminal Holdco Ltd. Company ODHL in the Odessa sea transport port has the Ukrainian branch "Brooklyn-Kiev Port" which plans for port territory to open the new container terminal and to become its operator this company.

It is expected, that the share of participation of the European bank in Odessa Terminal Holdco Ltd will make to 5 % from a total cost of the civil-engineering design of the new container terminal which cost is supposed in $130 million Guarantor of the given building one of linear leaders of the international container transportations in the Ukrainian market of container services - French navigable company CMA-CGM is.

The new container terminal in the Odessa transport port as celebrates the European bank can raise in the future capacity of port to that level that will correspond to the raised demand for the Ukrainian container transportations and development of the Ukrainian logistics.

As inform Economic News the Deputy Chief of the Odessa sea transport port J.Vaskov, has expressed the opinion that, despite falling of volumes of transfer of container cargoes because of world financial and economic crisis, now it is expedient to spend investments into building of the new container terminal into Odessa. He also has noticed, that the economic crisis - a temporary phenomenon, and building of the container terminal will help the Odessa port to find new directions of the international container carriers working with supersize container vessels as at present, the sea container cargo ship with the big load-carrying capacity cannot accept, in Ukraine any Ukrainian port.

The assistant to the head of parliamentary committee on transport and J.Kruk's communication agrees with such opinions with the deputy the Сhief of the Odessa port and notices, that the Odessa transport port is necessary for developing, in building of the new container terminal, and in case of the termination of building of the deep-water terminal Ukraine has possibility to intercept a container stream of the cargoes arriving to Europe, through the city of Constance of Romania.
