The Ministry of economy of Ukraine blocks the contest for the construction in Odessa the port a new container terminal

At the press conference in Odessa the port Deputy Minister of transport and communication of Ukraine V. Rabotnev stated that a competition for the construction of container terminal on Quarantine bay Odessa port is blocked by the Ministry of the economy.

He said that, during the past six months, the Cabinet was unable to determine the procedure of the contest on the choice of the investor to this construction. Project on reconstruction of international Odessa transport port already several times is supplied to the Ministry of economy and again came back to re-activate.

However, he noticed that the prospects for a project much improved, after 5 March meeting the Prime Minister Y. Tymoshenko with representatives of trade unions of Odessa port, after which she gave personal order approve the construction of new terminal.

Deputy Minister also drew attention to the fact that enterprises in State ownership in the Ukrainian legislation is not specified, the process of investing. Therefore, such enterprises often themselves forced to apply different options of joint activities, because there are no normal state laws on the investment.
