April 1, 2009.
Reflection Bank JP Morgan finds that in the current year changes in the international market of container transport goods will not change significantly worse, but also the improvement of transport at this time does not improve. They also believe that strong decline in freight rates will no longer be because prices already do not cover the costs of transport containers.
Currently, the cost carriers on the lines of Europe–Asia average 490 dollars per TEU, while full freight bet on these lines not above 400 dollars per TEU. After deductions all incremental Terminal and bunker overhead freight component is zero. This situation with forced the international container lines close their ocean services.
According to the same bank JP Morgan, the demand for marine container transportations, compared with data earlier projections for 2009 of 7.6 per cent, will only increase by 2.6%.
Reflection another bank-Morgan Stanley, on the contrary, projected and further lowering rates for freight until the autumn of 2007, which can lead to large losses from sea carriers on the 2009. R?flection Bank also believe that the plans of carriers to increase their costs will not give them profit increase.
